|title:Captain of the Black Sugar Gang;franchise:Wario;debut:Wario Land"Super Mario Land 3 (1994);console:Game Boy;actor:Hitomi Hirose;
|Captain Syrup is a rival of Wario's appearing in Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 and Wario Land II, both on the original Game Boy. She was seemingly dropped from the Wario series for many years, especially during the Wario Ware era, until she returned with an updated design in Wario Land: Shake It! on the Nintendo Wii in 2008.
[br][br]She is the leader of the Black Sugar Gang and just as greedy as Wario himself, going as far as stealing Wario's treasure in Wario Land II directly from his castle. Her forces employ a variety of enemy types, most notably the spear men (pirate gooms). Captain Syrup has been known to use different machines when fighting Wario herself, including the Mecha Kuri - a large, robotic spear man.
[br][br]Captain Syrup has a number of abilities to choose from across her boss encounters in Wario Land II but not nearly enough to make an entire Smash Bros. loadout. To give her some flavor and fill in the gaps, I wanted to draw from Tron Bonne's appearances in Marvel vs Capcom. Hence, she rides in the Mecha Kuri and uses a mix of strikes and deploying other troops.

|Mecha Kuri: Captain Syrup rides on the back of her giant robotic spearman. Unlike Bowser Jr. and his clown car, the Mecha Kuri is inseparable from Captain Syrup. (In the small handful of animations where she briefly exits and reenters the cockpit, she is not considered a separate entity.)
[br]Spearman Charge: The Mecha Kuri has a battery that drains over time and must be charged by using Captain Syrup's neutral special. As the battery wanes, its movement speed becomes sluggish. If the battery drains completely, the unit will not be able to move or attack except to recharge itself using neutral special.

{Giant Spear Charge|The Mecha Kuri raises its giant spear and calls down a lightning bolt that recharges its energy and shocks anyone too close to it.
|-
{Deploy Spearman|Captain Syrup brings out a regular spear man that runs forward, trying to damage opponents, before disappearing.
|-
{Muka Kuri Thruster|The Mecha Kuri uses its built-in thruster to ascend. Like R.O.B.'s up special, this lasts for a few seconds and only continually ascends while up is held on the direction pad.
|-
{Deploy Bomb|Deploys a walking bomb that explodes after a set time. If deployed in the air, the bomb explodes and sends a pillar of fire straight up; if deployed on the ground, the bomb explodes almost immediately and sends shorter pillars of flame travelling along the ground in both directions.
